Clear Skin Smoothies: Banana, Berries and Spinach
I thought it was time to post another smoothie recipe, and I loved this one! This included: a handful of mixed berries, 1/2 a banana and a handful of spinach. I also added a little fruit juice and yogurt to make it a bit thinner!
– Mixed Berries: Berries contain many antioxidants including vitamin C. This is responsible for the health of collagen. They also aid in weight loss, as well as lowering cholesterol and blood pressure. Blueberries in particular are known to reduce the levels of oil in your skin, therefore helping acne…
– Spinach: I think some people get put off by putting spinach in a smoothie, but I promise that you can barely taste it! Spinach contains vitamin C which helps repair your skin cells and manufacture new skin cells as it is involved in the production and maintenance of collagen. Spinach also hydrates you and your skin as it contains lots of water! Spinach is also a great source of selenium (reduces inflammation), magnesium and zinc!
– Bananas: Bananas have so many health benefits such as lowering cholesterol and blood pressure, provides energy etc. I think they’re great to add to smoothies as they are cheap and bulk it out (although I tend not to use a full banana as sometimes it ends up being all you can taste!) Bananas contain vitamin C and B6 which maintain the integrity and elasticity of the skin. Bananas also protect the skin from damaging free radicals.
