Firstly, thank you very much to the Mr Bean Body Care Company for sending me this product. I love being able to try new things to review! So what actually is this Mr Bean scrub, it’s a Organic Coffee Scrub with Robusta Coffee Beans, Organic Cold Pressed Coconut Oil, Himalayan pink rock salt, Demerara Sugar, Organic Cacao and Vitamin E oil. It aims to improve your skins imperfections and rehydrate your skin…
Personally, I hate drinking coffee so at first the smell was a little much for me I have to say! But I guess I should have been aware of this before, and the majority of people will absolutely love this smell. I applied this in bath which I think was completely wrong as its really loose and doesn’t stick to your skin well. (oops, didn’t read the instructions correctly). So, I tried this again the other day whilst in the shower. I applied all over my damp skin in circular motions – particularly in problem areas. Then, I stood away from the shower for 5 minutes to let it soak. Then rinsed it off. This is definitely the best way to use it.
What is it helpful for?
Taken from mrbeanbodycare.com:
• Caffeine will stimulate blood flow and help reduce the appearance of cellulite, eczema, stretch marks, age spots, varicose veins and psoriasis.
• Demerara Sugar and Himalayan Salt will exfoliate your skin, removing dead skin, acne, whiteheads, blackheads, breakouts and other skin blemishes
• Coconut Oil will hydrate and moisturize your skin
• Cocoa and Vitamin E are high in antioxidants which nourish and protect the skin, promoting cell repair and rejuvenation
Prior to using this, I was worried it could cause me to break out. I am very precautions about putting new products onto my face. Therefore, on the first use I put it on my body, including my chest, back, tummy, bum and legs. The next day my skin felt really smooth and it didn’t cause any rashes or irritation – like many products do on my sensitive skin. So the second time I decided to use it on my face and it gave the same really nice feeling, with no breakouts!
It does what it says, it hydrates and moisturises your skin, and helps to exfoliate your skin. It also claims to help cellulite and skin conditions, but I think it would need to be used a few more times to see if it helped any of these. The one problem I did find was that it really did need a good scrubbing off, otherwise it looks like a really bad fake tan. I also found it was a little bit messy and hard to handle. But it works really well and it feels nice when scrubbing so who cares if its messy!
Pros: Smoother skin, rehydration, didn’t cause breakouts, scent is either a pro or con depends if you like coffee!
Cons: Make sure you wash off as it left lasting colour on my skin, bit messy and not sticky enough.
