If you’re from the US then you’ve probably heard of Glossier and if you’re from anywhere and a reader of beauty blogs then you’ve definitely heard of intothegloss.com. Glossier is a beauty brand started by the creators of intothegloss.com, particularly Emily Weiss, aimed to provide fun and personal beauty products. I got introduced to Glossier earlier this year from a friend who let me try their boy brow and I loved it. After trying this, I decided to order some of their products and give them a try. When these products arrived there was a slogan written on the inside of the box that read: Skin first, Make-up second, smile always. As soon as I read this I instantly was a Glossier fan, their philosophy is that skincare is essential, make-up is a choice. Skin should most definitely always come first and is most definitely essential, this is a ritual I live by for sure.
I love boy brow because it gives your eyebrows a natural look. I often used to use powdered eyebrow make-up but it often looks cakey and fake. Boy brow is great because it tidies up your natural brows whilst adding some darker colour to them. Even though I am blonde, I use the brown shade the make my eyebrows slightly more defined.
When ordering my boy brow I also decided to try cloud paint. This is a blusher, which was an unusual product for me to buy as I often skip blusher in my daily make-up routine. However, I really liked the way it looked on the images of the models on their website. Now I wear it almost every day, its easy to apply and really brightens up my cheeks. I originally bought the puff shade which I love but I recently just ordered haze which I also love, but haze is a little darker so I need to make sure I apply a little less. Cloud paint is great because its a cream formula so its really easy to blend onto your skin and you can build up your colour by adding it gradually.
I purchased the cherry flavoured balm, and it smells amazing, looks lovely on your lips as it has a little hint of red. I love this as its perfect for everyday use, brightens up your lips without having to wear lipstick, whilst soothing and moisturising your lips.
Next on my list of things to buy is their stretch concealer as considering I have acne I often skip concealer therefore I was thinking of giving the glossier concealer a try! Possibly a slightly lighter shade also for use under eyes. They also sell some cute lipsticks / lipgloss which can never be a bad thing to buy.
Note: I really wanted to purchase the haloscope highlighter as it looks so pretty, however the reviews (I always read reviews!) said that it wasn’t good for people with acne as it made them breakout in areas that they applied it. I wanted to mention this, as for me I don’t think its worth the risk.
Whilst still in the USA I just stocked up on my glossier products, and when visiting New York in August before I head back to the UK I will be stopping by their showroom/store (hope to post some pics). However, very exciting news is that they just announced they are now shipping to Canada, and soon the UK and France! I am so excited by this, as I was worried about how I would get my glossier products when I leave the USA after spending an entire year here!
