I am returning to the UK today, and I am super excited to get my hands on some of my favourite beauty products that I could not find here in the USA. Many of you may have read my Friday Favourites: Top Beauty Finds in the States, so I thought a European Version was essential. I opted for ‘European’ as many of my faves that I struggled to find in America were actually my French Pharmacy brands! Here are my European Favourites.
For those of you that are not British, Sudocrem is a cream commonly put on babies bottoms. For those of you who are British, you know that this is one of the greatest, cheapest, a-million-uses beauty product that almost every household owns. And I could not find it in the USA, I had to get my cousin to ship some over. Why is it so great? Sudocrem is great for eczema, great for ingrown hairs after shaving, and soothing on acne! It has so many uses for many different skin concerns and skin types. I don’t condone caking your face completely in sudocrem if you have acne, it is a little greasy but a light layer can really help reduce inflammation and redness. Its very white and thick, therefore definitely only to be used before bed or when in the house – its not an apply before your make-up kinda lotion!
La Roche Posay: Effaclar H
French pharmacy is just.. amazing. AND its so easy to get in the UK. I have noticed Target, one of the few places in America, sells La Roche Posay. However, it is incredibly expensive in comparison to UK prices. And the only moisturiser I ever use – Effaclar H, I could not find anywhere. This moisturiser got its own Friday Favourites post a two years ago and I am still using it to this day. Again, a friend had to provide me with it from home when she came to visit.
Avene Cleanance Gel
Another of my french pharmacy faves is Avene Cleanance Gel this also got its own post two years ago – and again, it is still my go-to face wash, Why is it so great? This face wash does not contain a chemical called sodium laureth sulphate which is often added to products to allow them to foam when you apply them. After hunting to find a cleanser that didn’t contain it, this was one of the only ones I found.
Boots & Superdrug
I am also really excited to go to Boots and Superdrug, and just look around – I’ve really missed them!
