When my skin first started to get pretty bad I didn’t really know what products to use and what was good for my skin, a year or so later I was introduced to Clinique. Above is a photo of my current collection (this is only including the stuff I have at uni, I love it and have much more at home!) There slogan is Allergy Tested, 100% fragrance free which starts off my post about how amazing they are. In 1968 they introduced their 3 step systems it was the first ever dermatologist-created, allergy-tested, 100% fragrance-free collection of beauty products ever marketed. So I’m going to tell you about some of there products by skin type…
Skin Type: Oily / Blemish Prone
The Clinique Anti-Blemish Range was the one I was first introduced too and I was really pleased with most of these products. Clinique have many three step systems that include a facial wash (or soap), clarifying lotion and a moisturiser. In Cliniques anti-blemish range you can purchase miniature versions of all three for just £25 – here.
My favourite product out of the three is the moisturiser which is known as the Anti-Blemish All Over Clearing Treatment. It is oil-free so doesn’t cause any breakouts but definitely removes any dryness and leaves your face feeling lovely and soft. You can buy the full sized version of this for £19 – here.
The face wash is also another favourite of mine, but when I realised that Clinique offered a bar of soap with the same formula I decided to give this a go. I think that the soap is better because I can use it all over my body including my back and chest. But if you just want it for your face then the face wash is great! You can buy the clearing soap for £16 – here or the cleansing foam for £17 – here.
The one product I’m not overly keen on is the Anti-Blemish Clarifying Lotion it feels a bit too harsh and I always find it smells pretty strong and feels like nail varnish remover. This could be because I have sensitive skin but I didn’t buy this product again after using it the first time. However, I have not tried a clarifying lotion from any other of their ranges, which I will be sure to do soon!
I recently purchased the Anti-Blemish Clinical Clearing Gel which was £20 and you can buy – here. I have only tried this once, so not ready to review it yet, but it seems promising and will update you on it soon!
Skin Type: Very Dry / Dry
In Cliniques 3 step system for dry skin there are also some amazing products. I have not tried many of these as my skin has always been acne prone. However, recently as my skin is literally as dry as it can get now (due to roaccutane/isotretinoin) I have needed more dry skin products rather than anti-blemish. I currently use the Dry Skin Facial Soap which you can buy for £15 – here. I love this soap as its really mild so its perfect for even the most sensitive of skins, and it hasn’t caused me to break out. If you have any problems with dryness or dry skin conditions such as eczema I would recommend this as it will not cause any irritation or aggregate the skin.
The Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion is also a part of the dry skin range. I have never tried this but I’m starting to feel like I should! It is one of Clinique’s best sellers (and being a massive Clinique fan I’m surprised I haven’t tried it). It is made to strengthen the skins moisture barrier and lock in moisture. You can purchase this for between £17.50-£30 depending on the size – here.
Clinique have so many different products that are unique to each skin type including products for redness, age prevention, dark spots, pores, sun protection.. I could go on for a while. As well as this they also created make-up which I think is just as amazing as there skin care and I will discuss more of this in the near future.
They currently also have ‘bonus time’ in house of frazer where you receive a free bag of miniature clinique products, which is amazing! I got this the other day and it includes some of my favourites along with some new things for me to try!
