One of my top dry skin products at the moment is Eucerin – Aquaphor it essentially feels like vaseline but doesn’t feel as greasy. It is fragrance and preservative free and non-comedogenic so its not harmful for your skin! My lips are extremely dry at the moment, even cracked and this is great for any one who has sore and dry lips – but you can use it anywhere! The one con I would say about this product is that its pretty thick, so the best time for application (particularly on the face) is before bed. I bought this product after reading many reviews that its helpful for people on roaccutane which I feel it is, but anyone who suffers with dry skin this product is perfect!

Recently I was introduced to bare minerals, I’d never really heard much about it before but now I wouldn’t go anywhere without it! It is amazing for anyone with skin issues as it is not bad for your skin in anyway – so you don’t have to feel guilty about wearing it! I love it because it’s really light weight but also provides amazing coverage. I personally use the fairly light original foundation (link to purchase available below) which gives me flawless coverage I need but also doesn’t cause further breakouts! When I started roaccutane I knew my skin would become severely dry and I didn’t know if this powder foundation would be a problem however it’s not! Even though my skin is dry this foundation still works flawlessly – except on the rare occasion when my skin is having a very bad day.
On my birthday recently I went to go buy some more and decided to buy the complexion pack instead, this included the original foundation and matte foundation (in smaller sizes), a bronzer, primer and a brush – and something else? I can happily say that I am pleased with these other products too. The primer allows smoother make up applications and helps soften blemishes and dry skin. The bronzer also gives a very nice glow, and the brush helps for flawless application.
I am still yet to try the matte foundation as my skin is dry at this current time rather than oily I don’t see it necessary – but anyone who has tried and has any opinions please let me know!
so yeah bare minerals is one of my top skincare brands and there are still so many products of theirs I aim to try and will eventually post, the best thing is I know that they will not cause any problems to my easily aggravated skin! – give it a try!
Hey everyone! I’m Abbie, 19 from
Hull and I’m currently at Leeds University studying Neuroscience. I decided recently to start a website all about skincare, after suffering with acne for many years and also having a little interest in web design I thought this would be a good idea.
I have tried several different antibiotics, creams and pills in order to improve my skin. Unfortunately for me none of these really worked – I have literally tried everything, including rediculous things that had no intention of working! I am currently on roaccutane/isotetinoin, one of the strongest medications for acne sufferers, which means I can’t drink either! And this treatment has suddenly caused me to go from having oily skin to extremely dry skin. So currently my lips are extremely cracked, my eyes and all of my skin is dry as well as being very dehydrated.
I really want to take this opportunity to tell everyone about the different products and techniques out there not only for blemish prone skin but all skin types – including for dry skin which I am now experiencing! There are many aspects that can effect the quality of your skin such as certain products, medications, general skincare techniques and even your diet. I just want to share the knowledge I have gathered over time with everyone else, and also have fun blogging and designing.
